It's a mixture of romance, martial arts, Asia and the strikingly beautiful world of China. The music sets a stunning melodic atmosphere. There are great costumes which, by the way, I'd like to have for myself. And it has character! Michelle Yeoh, Zhang Zi Yi, Chang Chen, Chow Yun Fat are the stars of this tale of love and revenge in ancient China.
It's about two warriors who fought together in great battles and have gone through a great deal. However, they were bound by responsibilities and traditions and they could not proclaim their love for each other. An enemy who vowed revenge on both these warriors taught the daughter of an aristocratic family the ways of fighting and combat. This daughter attempted to free herself from the restrictions of living in an upper-class family and of a marriage she was not prepared for.
What I really enjoyed about this movie was, simply, everything. It highlighted many issues and was infused with energy and force. I hope you enjoy it!
