Oliver Twist is the story of a young boy who was born in the workhouse. His mother died and wasn\'t married. From the age of nine Oliver has to work hard. One day, Oliver and his friend get hungry and tired. They have three very small meals every day and only a small piece of bread on Sunday. One day, the Master of the workhouse, Mr. Bumble, hits Oliver with his spoon and locks him in a dark room. Oliver calls and someone opens the door. It is Mr Bumble. He sees Oliver sitting on the floor, very tired. He runs away with Mr. Bumble who takes Oliver to the market to sell him because he is very stupid, stubborn and nervous. Fagin, a friend of Oliver\'s, comes in and plans to get Oliver back with Nancy\'s help. They succeed and in the end Oliver ends up with a large sum of money. I like this story because it\'s very important to talk about the life of children at that time. In the end Oliver gets his share of the money, the bad man dies and everything comes together. The farmers work together with Oliver as brothers in the fields. Badria Abdullah Al Muntheri, SIJ |
