| Three years ago I went to the country of the koala bear, Australia. We were a group of six and all of us were relatives. We went there because we had heard a lot about its climate, nature and people. We reached Australia after spending twenty-five hours between planes and airports. First of all we went to Gold Coast, which lies in Queensland. This place has a wonderful climate. We were amazed that it was cold and rainy when we got out of the plane, because it was July, the king month of summer in the UAE, so we were hopeful about our trip, although we were very tired due to the long traveling hours. Two days later we decided to go to the jungle. It was the first time for all of us to visit a jungle, so we were afraid of the poisonous plants and insects. Also we saw waterfalls, which drew a beautiful picture of nature. After that, we went to a place where you can feed birds. At first I didn\'t think that I would be patient enough to allow these birds to come over my head, then my shoulder, finally to my hand to reach for its food. On our way to the hotel, we saw two kangaroos, but we didn\'t find any koala. Maybe they were sleep, because they have a reputation for sleeping a lot.  After spending eight days in Gold Coast, we went to Sydney, which is one of the most important cities in Australia. We didn\'t stay long there, just four days. We went on a tour around the city and went shopping. Sydney is like London in the shape of the buildings and the weather is similar too, because it changes rapidly. We had some difficulty in finding "halal" food because there were no restaurants for Muslims, especially in Gold Coast, which forced us to eat more and more fish. However, in Sydney we found a Turkish restaurant and they were Muslims, so we ate until we felt that our stomachs would burst. Australian people are very kind and helpful. They were always smiling when we talked to them and if you asked them to do anything they would do it for you. I liked my trip to Australia very much because I was happy and excited there. I hope that I can go there for another time and spend at least two whole weeks. |
