What the future holds by Fatima Al Hashemi |
![]() I walk into a dark forest of tall pine trees, Nothing but pitch darkness lies ahead of me. I hear the trees rustling and swaying to the wind, The sound of leaves scrunching underneath my stilettos seems comforting. I saunter slowly straight on ahead, Wishing for a light to appear amidst the gloom. ![]() For a moment I turn and look back, An image overpowers me. The memory of where I have been captivates me, The wonderful days of the yester years haunt me. I move forward into the unknowing, The mystical journey seems tormenting. ![]() Suddenly I see a vision, The image seems bright and radiant. ![]() I see my future shining valiantly, Shapes of my dreams start forming. ![]() Finally, I see the light at the end of the tunnel, It took perseverance and might to envision this. ![]() |
